If you are trying to access a World but are experiencing an error, it may be due to being on a VPN.

A VPN is a virtual private network that organization oftentimes use for network security. If you are using a VPN, you may need to have the World's URL whitelisted with that VPN. Please contact your organization's administrator to request the World's URL is whitelisted.

In the meantime, or if the World's URL is whitelisted, refresh your DNS cache by referencing one of the flush options below:

Windows DNS flush

Search for Command Prompt using Windows' normal search feature. Click the Start button and type in Command Prompt, and then select it from the list when it appears.

Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator or click it in the results, you'll open an elevated Command Prompt.

Once open, type in the following command and press Enter.

"ipconfig /flushdns"

Flushing DNS will clear any IP addresses or other DNS records from your cache. This can help resolve security, internet connectivity, and other issues. It's important to understand that your DNS cache will clear itself out from time to time without your intervention.

That should update your local DNS cache, and you should be able to get to your World.

Chrome DNS Flush

If you are using the Chrome browser, you can also clear your host cache.

Open a new Window and enter into the browser:
chrome://net-internals/#dns

After hitting Enter you should see option to Clear host cache.

Click clear cache and then try to connect to the site.

Note: no prompts or confirmation messages will be shown, but this simple action should flush Chrome’s DNS cache for you.

Edge DNS Flush

If you are using the Edge browser, you can also clear your host cache.

Open a new Window and in the browser enter:

edge://net-internals/#dns

After hitting Enter you should see option to Clear host cache.

Click clear cache and then try to connect to the site.

Note: no prompts or confirmation messages will be shown, but this simple action should flush Edge’s DNS cache for you.

OSX DNS Flush

Based on your Operating System you will enter one of the following commands in a terminal.

Note that anytime you have to use sudo you will be prompted for your admin password.

Mojave (version 10.14)

High Sierra (version 10.13)

Sierra (version 10.12)

If the above steps did not work, you may need to disable Prediction Service if you are using a Chrome browser.

You can also encounter the error as a result of the prediction service interfering with your DNS address.

Follow these steps to disable prediction service:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Press Advanced settings

  3. Click on Privacy settings

  4. Then click on Use a Prediction service to load page more quickly

  5. Turn it off

Try and access your World.
